You should complete and submit the application and pay the $35 application fee prior to course or workshop registration. No application will be processed prior to receipt of the application fee. All information provided on the application must be documented or otherwise verifiable. You must meet the eligibility requirements in place at the time your application was submitted. Course registration is not complete until you have paid the applicable individual registration fee.

Once your application has been received, it will be reviewed by MIFSP. MIFSP will either approve or reject the application or additional information maybe requested.Approval or denial of the application is at the sole discretion of MIFSP.
If your application is not approved or if you fail to complete the application process for any reason, your application fee, minus a $25 processing fee, will be returned to you.
Please note - You must furnish all pertinent information about any convictions oradministrative action from which you have been previously found liable.
Annual Renewal Requirements
There is no fee required to maintain your designation.
Conferment Requirements:
1. Professional Experience
Minimum Experience:
Within the most recent five years the applicant must have one (1) year of verifiable full-time experience in financial services in one or more of the following areas: financial planning, mortgages, banking, insurance, investments, real estate, or accounting.
An undergraduate or graduate degree obtained within the last five years can substitute for the one year of required full-time business experience.
2. Financial Services Certification
Certification: Applicant must hold at least one current certification from the list below:
Mortgage broker's license or one year documented experience as a mortgage originator/loan officer or mortgage underwriter
NASD, insurance or real estate license with one year of full-time business experience
Certified Financial Planner CFP®
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
Registered Financial Consultant (RFC)
(You are not required to be currently licensed as a loan officer, mortgage broker, registered representative, real estate agent, etc., However, the license should not have been suspended or revoked.)
3. Educational Requirement
Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma
4. Application
You must complete and submit an application, along with the $35 application fee, and you must be accepted into a MIFSP educational program.
5. Course Requirement
You must complete the required MIFSP coursework by attending the workshop or by taking the required self-study course, and you must pass the examination with a minimum score of 75.
6. Ethics Statement
You must agree to abide by the MIFSP Professional Code of Conduct.
